Beginner's Guide
Your survival handbook for Hiterlo City — download, combat, resources, and progression.
🎯 First things first
NTE's core experience is a supernatural urban open world. Combat, exploration, and progression are all essential. Don't rush the main story early on. Learn the basic systems and manage resources wisely for a smoother late-game experience.
Download & Install
- NTE is available on PC (Windows), PS5, iOS, Android, and Mac. Download the client from the official website or your platform store.
- PC Minimum: GTX 1060 / RX 580, 8GB RAM, 30GB storage. Recommended: RTX 3060 / RX 6600, 16GB RAM, SSD.
- If the launcher gets stuck on D: drive during installation, manually change the install path to C: or another SSD with sufficient space.
- Cross-platform account sync is supported—bind your email or third-party login to avoid losing progress.
Combat Basics
- NTE uses real-time action combat. Control your investigator to fight supernatural entities using normal attacks, charged attacks, and dodges.
- Chain normal and heavy attacks for basic combos. Use Dash to cancel recovery animations and trigger precision dodges.
- Each character has a unique Esper ability powered by energy. Manage cooldowns and energy carefully.
- Enemies have weakness attributes and a Stagger bar. Hitting their weakness breaks Stagger faster, dealing massive damage.
Elemental Reaction System
- NTE features multiple elements (Fire, Water, Electric, etc.) that react when combined.
- Fire + Electric triggers Overload, dealing massive AoE burst damage—ideal for clearing groups.
- Water + Electric causes Conduction, applying sustained damage over time and slowing enemies.
- Building a team with complementary elements is the core of high-level team composition. Plan your roster around elemental synergy.
Core Resources
- Character Pixels: Used to exchange for consoles and cartridges, gain EXP, ascension materials, and upgrade Arcs. Obtained from Anomalous Zones and world bosses.
- Appraisal Level: The core progression lock. It determines character level caps, story unlocks, and Ascension quests. Raised through main and side quests.
- Hunter Rank: Independent growth rank providing base stat bonuses. Earned through City Tycoon activities, Anomalous Zones, and other content.
- Currency: Multiple currencies exist. Prioritize character ascension and weapon upgrades; cosmetic purchases are best saved for later.
Character Investment Priority
- Early Game (1-30): Focus resources on 1 main DPS and 1 support/healer. Do not spread investments thin.
- Prioritize main DPS level and weapon level first. Arc/artifact systems provide lower returns early compared to raw levels.
- Support characters should focus on survivability and utility. Their level can be slightly lower, but key skills must be maxed.
- Ascension materials come from daily rotation dungeons. Plan ahead for the next day's required materials.
Stamina Management
- Stamina is your most limited daily resource. Prioritize Character Pixel exchanges and Ascension Dungeons first.
- City Tycoon tasks consume no stamina but grant Hunter Rank XP—complete them every day.
- Save extra stamina for double-drop events. Check the event calendar before spending.
- Late-game players should shift focus to Arc/Gear dungeons once core teams are fully ascended.
Daily Checklist
- Spend all Character Pixels in Anomalous Zones (daily cap ~1200 Hunter XP).
- Complete daily commissions and City Tycoon tasks for stable XP and currency income.
- Check the shop for discounted ascension materials. Some are worth stocking up on when on sale.
- Participate in world boss hunts for Character Pixels and rare drops.
Gacha & Pity System
- The game uses a standard and limited banner system. New players should pull the beginner banner first for a guaranteed 5-star.
- Limited character banners have soft pity around 70-80 pulls, where rates increase significantly.
- Weapon banner should only be pulled for your main DPS's signature weapon. Supports can use 4-star alternatives.
- Don't chase every character. Plan your pulls wisely and ensure your core team is complete first.
